We recently teamed up with our friends at LIFX to develop a Microsoft Kinect powered lighting experience for Melbourne's PauseFest 2015. Using over 80 LIFX globes, all connected to a Kinect Sensor, visitors could interact with the light by simply moving their body to adjust the brightness, colour of the globes in the installation:
Of course, in order to develop the installation we needed to replicate the lighting array in our Melbourne offices - leading to the office being bathed in a fantastic array of colours as the team worked on fine tuning the software that powered it. Michael from our team also had a chance to practice his use of the force:
Over the course of the installation's residency at Federation Square, more than 3,500 people engaged with the installation - typically in groups of two or more. Engagement levels were also fantastic, with numerous visitors spending over 10 minutes playing with light!
